On Tuesday, April 12, the flag football team beat the Winter Park Wildcats.

In the first quarter the Lady Braves took an early lead, with senior Amanda Oliver scoring the first touchdown of the game, making the score 6-0. Senior Katlyn Nicholson scored an extra point, bringing the score to 7-0.

Senior Kelsey Byerly started the second quarter making a touchdown, bringing the score to 13-0. Holding off the Wildcats, senior Kristin Recker caught a 15-yard pass from senior quarterback Emily Colvin. Colvin then continued in the second quarter scoring a touchdown and sophomore Cassady Quintana scored an extra point. The Lady Braves led, 20-0.

The Wildcats scored their first touchdown of the game in the second quarter, bringing the score to 20-6. Quintana scored the Lady Braves six more points and Recker scored an extra point. With the second quarter coming to a close, the Lady Braves held their lead on the Wildcats, 27-6.

In the beginning of the third quarter, junior Haley Hadd intercepted the ball from the Wildcats and ran 45-yards down the field into the end zone, making a touchdown. Nicholson scored an extra point for the Lady Braves and brought the score to 33-6. Shortly after, the Wildcats made their second touchdown of the game, 34-12.

In the midst of the fourth quarter senior Sorymer Lopez made a touchdown for the Lady Braves and Nicholson scored an extra point, making it a 41-12 game. At the end of the fourth quarter, the Wildcats made another touchdown and an extra two points, making the score 41-20. However, that was not enough for the Wildcats, who lost, 41-20. The flag football team continued their winning streak, 7-0.

The team travels to East River to play the Falcons on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m.
