On Oct. 1 the boys cross country team traveled to West Orange High School to compete in the West Orange Invitational. The boy placed 9th out of 21 teams, with an average time of 18:55.52.

The boys team improved their overall average time from 19:16.32 at their last meet, the Hagerty Invitational, to 18:55.52.

Senior Spenser Blake earned a silver medal, placing second out of 171 runners (16:38.70). Senior Jose Vazquez-Dickson placed 13th (18:03.60), earning a ribbon for finishing in the top 15.

Sophomore Jake Colvin placed 26th (18:34.70), with senior Brandon McCoy following. McCoy placed 97th (20:36.20). Junior Andrew Fletcher finished 104th (20.44.40), with the fifth fastest time on the team.

The boys are back in action on Oct. 7-8 at the FSU Invitational at the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
