On Feb.22, the Lady Braves lacrosse team (2-2) played the Wekiva Mustangs (2-1) at home bringing in another win after double overtime.
To start the first half, junior Emily Darr received a yellow card for slashing a Mustang.
Junior Madelyn Benton scored the first goal of the game, putting the Lady Braves in the lead, 1-0.
Five minutes left in the first half sophomore Jessica Shutack scored on the Mustangs and the Lady Braves continue to lead, 2-0.
Ending the first half, the Mustangs caught up tying the game, 2-2.
Beginning the second half, Darr scored a goal with the assist from Benton bringing the Lady Braves back on top, 3-2.
Senior Kaitlyn Driskell scored, helping the team widen its lead, 4-2. Darr scored shortly after and made the score 5-2.
The Mustangs, striving to be on top, made two goals in the middle of the second half, 5-4.
Darr scored her third goal of the night keeping Boone on top 6-4.
Making a comeback, the Mustangs score two more goals, with one being within the last 27 seconds, ending the second half tied, 6-6.
The game went into a three minute overtime, but neither team scored.
In the second three minute overtime, Benton made her second and winning goal. The Lady Braves defeated the Wekvia Mustangs, 7-6.
The girls have a home game Wednesday, Feb. 24. They play Orangewood Christian School (0-5) at 6 p.m.
