The Edgewater Eagles (9-4) scored the first goal of the game in the first five minutes. After a turnover the Eagles got the ball and scored another goal, 0-2. With 15:06 left in the first half, Edgewater scored and made the score 0-3.
Coach Blaire Brown called for a timeout after the Eagles’ third goal and motivated her players. After the timeout, junior Morgan Chambers scored the Lady Braves’ first goal of the game, 1-3.
With another goal from Edgewater the Lady Braves went into halftime trailing the Eagles, 1-4.
There was 13:34 left in the game when Edgewater scored and lead the Braves, 1-5.
The team kept fighting and junior Emily Darr made a shot, but the goalie blocked it.
Edgewater then scored three goals back-to-back and led 1-8 with 4:47 left in the game.
In junior Alexis Musser’s attempt at blocking a shot from Edgewater she took a hit to the face with the ball. With 3:13 left Musser sat out the rest of the game.
After Darr’s goal in the last three minutes, the team fell to the Edgewater Eagles 2-8.
Come out this Wednesday to Dr. Norton Baker Stadium as the Lady Braves (6-6) take on the Cypress Creek Bears (2-8) at 7:30 p.m.
