On Thursday night, March 2, Lady Braves Softball (6-0) took on the Oak Ridge High School Pioneers (0-3) at home.

In the top of the first inning, senior Karla Plogstedt struck out the first Pioneer. Senior Rachel Lopez stopped a ground ball and threw it to sophomore Avery Clark, getting the second out. To bring the Lady Braves up to bat, freshman Zaniah Morgan made the final out at shortstop.

Junior Rachael Carroll smashed the ball to right field for a double. Carroll stole home, advancing the score to 1-0. Senior Elizabeth Wills hit a pop fly to center field, bringing in a runner. Senior Kelsi Smith and Morgan stole home. Braves led 4-0. With a hard hit to left field, junior Lara Dusing made it to second base. Plogstedt brought in another run with a ground ball. Clark stole home making the score 6-0. With the bases loaded, Wills got walked to first base, advancing a runner to home base.

To start the second inning, Plogstedt struck out every batter.

With the Braves back at-bat, Morgan hit a homerun. The score changed to 8-0. The Lady Braves brought in another run with Dusing up to bat. Dusing got on base then stole home, advancing the score to 10-0. With a line drive to center field, Carroll brought in another run. Senior Adriana Garip hit a dinger with the bases loaded, bringing in everyone on base, 14-0. Junior Natalie Cruz drove the ball to center field bringing in junior Kathleen Cairns. Braves lead 15-0.

In the top of the third inning, sophomore Ashley Johnson pitched all three outs.

The Lady Braves mercy ruled Oak Ridge 15-0.

The Lady Braves are 7-0 for the season. Their next game is March 3 at Apopka High School, against Apopka (4-1) at 7 p.m.
