With the traditional food and atmosphere one can be guaranteed a complete Thai experience. The Thai House of Orlando offers healthy, but wonderful food for a reasonable price.
They have a large array of appetizers, like the spring rolls ($2.95) and the Tom Kha soup ($3.25), but the spring rolls are my favorite. These are rice roll skin deep-fried and stuffed with cabbage, onion, bean threads and carrots with a sweet plum sauce. Each order contains three spring rolls, so if the group is four or more, order more than one. An alternative starter is their Tom Kha Soup. It is a bit different from your traditional wonton soup but it is very satisfying to the taste buds. The Tom Kha soup consists of chicken, mushroom, galanga, lemon grass, onion, celery, red bell pepper, bamboo shoot, cilantro and limejuice in coconut milk.
Their main dishes are no more than $15. One of the most famous dishes is their Pad Thai ($9), a traditional noodle dish with rice noodles stir-fried with egg, bean sprouts, paprika and other spices. It is also served with a cabbage, carrot and scallions on the side. This dish has more of a sweeter taste. If one is looking for something spicier then order the Crazy Meat ($10.00). This dish has sautéed meet with coconut milk, pineapple, snow peas, bell pepper, bamboo shoots in a red curry sauce.
If one has a sweet tooth the Thai House also offers delicious deserts, a few being the Banana Delight ($2.50) and their Fried Ice Cream ($3.95). The Banana Delight is slices of banana wrapped in pastry, served hot with honey and sesame seed. The Fried Ice Cream is scoops of ice cream covered with their homemade batter, then fried so that the center is still frozen.
Overall the Thai House of Orlando offers healthy and exceptional meals for a low price that teens will love. They are open for lunch Monday- Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For dinner hours are Monday- Thursday 5 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and Friday- Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. It is located at 2117 E.
