Located on East Michigan, this quaint restaurant is only two minutes away from campus by car and 15 minutes by foot. The Sandwich Company offers a variety of meals appropriate for lunch and an early dinner. The restaurant offers breakfast and signature sandwiches, as well as salads ($2.00-$9.25). The sandwiches are served with one side. Side options include cole slaw, potato salad, egg salad, fruit, Dirty Chips or a dill pickle.
Each of the elements of the menu has a Greek zest to it, like the delicious Zorba sandwich ($8.95), which includes roast beef, fresh vegetables, black olives, cheese and Greek vinaigrette. The Zorba has the perfect amount of ingredients to For those who have to scrape the spare change for an afternoon snack, the Pick Two option is perfect. This allows one to have any half sandwich and a choice of a side for only $5.99. Although half a sandwich does not sound satisfying enough, this portion will fill up anyone who orders it.
The Sandwich Company also has a plethora of salad choices accompanied by pita chips; one of their most tasteful and eccentric salads is the Waldorf ($9.25). This salad includes homemade chicken, grapes, cranberries, apples, mandarin oranges, tomatoes, cucumbers and balsamic vinaigrette. The combination of the chicken in contrast to the grapes and mandarins gives the salad a fruitful zest that shocks the taster. The salad has much more flavor than expected.
The restaurant offers a sides that range from $2-$4.95. One of these sides includes the Greek Yogurt Parfait ($4.95). This desert tops sweet vanilla yogurt with fresh fruit and granola, a light but delicious ending to the meal.
