After the referees approval of the team member’s nails, the girls’ water  polo team came together and discussed what they needed to execute in the four quarters ahead of them.  On April 2, the girl’s water polo competed against Freedom High School in their second to last home match.

In the first quarter, junior Eleanor Clark scored the first goal of the night.  Following Clark, juniors Dakota Lewis and Catherine Harper each scored a goal, sophomore Mackenzie Mock scored two goals, Clark scored another goal and senior Nichole Clayton scored one goal as the first seven minute period ended, the scoreboard reading 7-0.

The second quarter began with sophomore Rachel Goldenberg scoring and Clayton with her second goal of the night. At the end of the quarter, the girls were ahead 9-0.

Beginning the third quarter, sophomores Robin Houstoun and Maddie Guetzloe scored quickly.  Freedom attempted to score a goal but junior goalie Jenna Layton blocked them all leaving the score at 11-0 for the rest of the quarter.

With an entirely new line-up for the fourth quarter, freshman Leah Pancake quickly put the ball in the back of the goal.  Sophomore Alexyz Hernandez followed with the last goal of the night, making the final score 13-0.

The girls will play away at the YMCA Aquatic Center on April 4, at 7:15 p.m.
