The Lake Nona Lions defeated the boys volleyball team during their first home game of the season in three straight sets 22-25, 14-25, 13-25.

After an ace in the first set by senior Allen Jenkins, the Braves were down 7-11.  New coach Greg Kaplan called a timeout and the boys increased their score to 17-18 with a kill from freshman Daniel Hermida through the block of Lake Nona players.  However, their comeback was not enough to keep the Lions from scoring 25 points first.

Senior libero Cooper Meredith led the defense with eight digs and an ace as well as an additional six digs from sophomore Blake Garrison who also aced the Lions. Senior setter Samuel Furukawa provided nine assists alongside freshman Karl Schaefer who added six assists and a kill off of a dump.  Garrison registered four kills and Hermida registered three on the Lake Nona defense.

The boys will travel to University on March 13 to face off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m.
