Step 8: Try it out.

Laziness is definitely an art, and out of that art, came life hacks, and out of life hacks, came the floating cooler. There is no longer any need to get out of the pool to get something to eat or drink. A floating cooler can also be great when relaxing on a floating lounge chair. A similar idea alters the cooler and makes it a floating target to throw Nerf balls in. A floating cooler is also fairly easy and fun to make. And, if done correctly, it is a hack that actually works.

Supplies needed:

  • Plastic tub container (any box-like shape should work)
  • Rope (possibly an old jump rope)
  • Pool noodles (at least one, maybe two depending on size)
  • Scissors
  • Colored marker
  • Ice
  • Food/drinks
  • Decorations

To make one:

Step 1: Hold the noodle so the end of it lines up with an end of the bin. Make a mark near the edge. Do this with each side.

Step 2: Cut along the line.

Step 4: String the rope through the noodles. Alternate stringing the shorter and longer pieces.
Step 3: String the rope through the noodles. Alternate stringing the shorter and longer pieces to match the sides of the cooler.
Step 5: Wrap the noodles around the container. Loop the rope a few times through the holes if it is too long. Tie it.
Step 4: Wrap the noodles around the container. Loop the rope a few times through the holes of the noodles or cut the rope if it is too long. Tie a knot to hold it.
Step 6: Add ice, drinks, and food.
Step 5: Add ice, drinks and food. Try to keep the weight somewhere between five to 10 pounds.
Step 7: Decorate.

Step 8: Try it out.
Step 7: Try it out and be ready for the next life hack.
