On Oct. 22,  the girls cross country team competed in the Metro East Championship at Lake Nona High School. The girls placed fourth out of the 10 schools competing. The team had an overall average time of 22:59, right behind Colonial High School.

Sophomore Jessica Dolan led the team, placing 21st out of 78 runners (22:40.50). Senior Cassidy Malott followed in 22nd place (22:45.16) and directly behind her, junior Alexandra Sublette placed 23rd (22:45.88).

Freshman Samantha Schultz finished in 29th place (23:07.74), senior Gabrielle Reiff finished in 36th place (23:40.11) and senior Claire Collins came in 37th (23:40.37).

The girls will compete in districts on Nov. 1, at West Orange High School.
