Out of the gate, the boys came out strong, winning the tip off and making a few easy baskets, quickly bringing the score in their favor. Colonial’s defense was no match for the Braves, as they continued to make easy shot after easy shot. The first quarter ended favorably at 17-5, with Jeremy Bouton scoring 13 of those points.

Colonial attempted to catch up in the second quarter, but just couldn’t stop the Braves from continuing their charge ahead. The Braves’ well placed jump shots and layups kept their lead strong throughout the quarter, not allowing the Grenadiers to catch a break.

The third quarter appeared at first like the Grenadiers may be catching up, scoring two three pointers in a row to bring the score to 38-26. However, an excellent three point shot from Tyler Colson and four points from Jose Melendez allowed the Braves to only solidify their lead ending the quarter 44-28.

The fourth quarter was littered with fouls, giving the Grenadiers points on the board but the Braves kept ahead to end the game with a win, 61-46. The Braves’ will face off against the West Orange Warriors on Friday, Dec. 19, in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium.
