In their district finals game on April 29, the flag football team beat the Jones Tigers, 26-6, advancing them to regional championship games.

The first quarter began junior Danielle Couqueran making a touchdown, putting the score at 6-0. Towards the end of the quarter sophomore Natalia Diaz pulled a flag which prevented Jones from making a touchdown.

The team started the second quarter, scoring a two-point safety because of defensive pressure. Later in the quarter, senior Megan Gibson made a first down and junior Katy Nicholson made a touchdown. The second quarter ended 14-0

The third quarter started with Jones High school attempting to score a touchdown, but senior Emily Stearns tipped the ball to junior Emily Colvin for an interception keeping the score 14-0 through the third quarter.

With 1:07 left in the fourth quarter Jones scored a touchdown making the score 14-6. Shortly after, Stearns ran a 75-yard touchdown ending the game 20-6.

The Lady Braves will play Oak Ridge High School in the first round play-in-game at Oak Ridge High School on May 2 at 4 p.m.
