On Sept. 12, the girls cross country team headed to Lake Nona High School to compete in the Lake Nona Lions Prowl race. The girls finished sixth overall, with a team average time of 22:40.18, leading Westminster Academy by seven seconds.

Finishing sixth represents an advancement in the team’s overall performance, since they finished 13th at the Astronaut Rotary Invitational the previous Saturday, Sept. 5.

Senior Ebony West led the team, placing 16th out of 97 total runners (21:53.40). Freshman Hannah Schneeberger and junior Kiara Zambra followed in 24th (22:22.00) and 25th (22:26.50), respectively.

Sophomore Samantha Schultz followed the three front runners, finishing 37th (23:08.20). Tailing Schultz, senior Ariel D’Angellilo came in 41st (23:30.80).

The girls are seeking to improve the overall standing next week on Sept. 19, at the Mountain Dew Invitational at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
