On Jan. 5, the Lady Braves soccer team faced The First Academy at home.

In the first half, both team’s defence were working hard to make sure their opponent could not score, so this led to a lot of back and forth on the field. Freshman Olivia Easterling and sophomore Jazmin Adlam both took shots but TFA’s goalie blocked both of them. TFA repeatedly tried to score and sophomore Emily Baker blocked two shots. But TFA  managed to get past her to score two goals.  Freshman Cythia Bagozzi scored one goal in attempt to even out the score.

After halftime, Adlam scored her first goal of the night. Directly after, freshman Megan Sterns scored a goal. TFA fought back and scores another goal, bringing the score to a tie of 3-3. In the last five minutes of the game, Adlam made her second goal of the night, breaking the tie and leading her team to victory.

The Lady Braves beat The First Academy, 4-3, bringing their record to 11-4-1.

The girl’s next game is senior night on Friday, Jan. 8 at home against Lake Nona High School. The game starts at 6 p.m.
