On a Thursday Jan. 14, the cheer team competed in the large varsity division of the at the Central Florida Metro Championship at Freedom High School.

Running a little bit behind schedule, the girls competed around 6:45 p.m. after the Winter Park cheer team.

Out of 10 teams for the East Conference, Winter Park took first in the competition, Freedom earning second place and the Lady Braves brought home third.

The team traveled to Flagler Palm Coast High School for the FHSAA Region 2 State Qualifier on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The Brave cheerleaders took third place again but Hagerty High School took first and Bertram Trail High School cheerleaders took second.

The next competition is at the University of South Florida Sun Dome, Tampa. The dates are Jan. 29 and 30 for the FHSAA State Championship. Times to be announced.
