On Monday, April 25, the Lady Braves (10-0) flag football team took on the University Cougars (7-5) for a spot at the district finals.

In the first quarter senior Amanda Oliver made the first touchdown, with senior Kelsey Byerly scoring an extra point. The Braves led at first quarter, 7-0.

With a slow start at the beginning of the second quarter, junior Natalia Diaz picked up the speed and sacked a Cougar. Shortly after, senior Emily Colvin got the ball and ran 35 yards, making a touchdown. At halftime, the Lady Braves led the game, 14-0.

The Cougars made their first touchdown at the end of the fourth quarter, increasing their score, 14-6. With a close game, the Lady Braves claimed their victory and advance to the district championship. The final score was 14-6.

The team travels to Dr. Phillips to play Dr. Phillips on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
