On Thursday, Dec. 8, the Lady Braves (9-3) played the Lake Nona Lions (0-2) on the Reservation and added another win to the scorebook.

Junior Cassady Quintana started the game with the first 3-pointer of the night, 3-0. Throughout the first half junior Brittany smith and sophomore Alexandria Lemmon made consistent baskets and senior Angeni Worley made the second 3-pointer, 11-6.The Braves stole the ball at the end of the second quarter, and with a slow start the girls lead at halftime, 18-13.

Throughout the second half, the Braves picked up the speed and Smith led with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks throughout the game. Lemmon contributed 12 points and Quintana added 11 points.

At the beginning of the third quarter Lake Nona scored, 38-23. With a basket from Lemmon and sophomore Madeline Morales, they dominated towards the end of the game, 47-29.

In the last quarter Lake Nona started to make baskets, but the momentum stopped when a Lake Nona Lion pushed Lemmon, and received a foul. A minute before the buzzer, Lake Nona stole the ball with the last basket of the game. The game ended in a win, 51-41.

Come out and support the Lady Braves as they take on East River (7-2) on Dec. 12, at East River at 7:30 p.m.
