Both water polo teams faced the Timber Creek Wolves on Wednesday.
The Lady Braves started on offense in the first quarter after junior River Hastings won the swim off, giving the Lady Braves possession of the ball. Junior Olivia Sparkman started the game with the girls’ first goal and senior Grace McGee led the team in goals. The girls held a strong lead throughout the game. However, in the third and fourth quarters the Wolves snuck three goals past goalie senior Chloe Conyers. Despite the three goals, the girls beat the Wolves 13-3.
After the girls’ victory, the boys took on the Wolves. Senior Samuel Houston also started the boys game off on offense with possession of the ball. Junior Ethan Mortensen scored the first goal of the game with an assist from senior Chase Herron. Mortensen led the boys in the first quarter, scoring five goals. In the fourth quarter, with 25 seconds left, junior Luis Rodriguez took a shot, wrapping up the game with a 17-5 win.
The boys and girls teams will both take on Lake Nona at Lake Highland preparatory school at 7 p.m.
