Both water polo teams faced Lake Nona for their semi regional competition on Tuesday.

The girls took on the Lions first with hopes of advancing to the state competition. After key player junior Olivia Sparkman received three ejections, she could not play in the rest of the game. This forced the girls to adjust their playing style to make up for the loss. After keeping the score close for the first three quarters, another player senior Grace McGee received three ejections. With two of their starters benched, the girls struggled in the fourth quarter and lost to the Lady Lions 5-7, after beating them earlier in the season.

After the girls, the boys took on the Lions. Junior Ethan Mortensen and senior Chase Herron led the Braves but struggled to take a lead. Throughout the game, the Braves struggled to catch up to the Lions. In the 3rd quarter, the Lions held a strong lead of 1-6, and the Braves couldn’t recover. The team lost 4-13.

Because both teams lost, the Braves finished their season. Click the links to view photos from the girls season and the boys season.
