In a time where gifts often range from gift cards to cash, these items can seem impersonal. Crafting a collage offers a low-budget gift substitution with an added personal flair.

Do or DIY: Collage offers personalized gift option

Supplies:

Mod Podge

•Magazines

•Photograph

•A sturdy background (wooden square or canvas panel)

•Scissors (or X-Acto Knife)

•Magazines

•Paintbrush

•Pencil

•Paint, if desired

Directions:

  1. Cut out photograph and determine desired placement on on background
  2. Mark area that photograph covers with pencil
  3. Cut shapes out of magazine to cover the background
  4. Use paintbrush to adhere the shapes to background with Mod Podge except for where the photograph will be places
  5. After background is covered, use paintbrush and Mod Podge to adhere photograph
  6. Let dry
  7. Seal everything with a layer of Mod Podge
  8. If desired, outline photograph with paint to emphasize the subjects
