In races against more than 50 schools at the Mountain Dew Invitational at the University of Florida, the girls cross country team finished 31st overall, and the boys finished 34th overall.

Leading the girl’s team, senior Ebony West finished 162nd (22:43.42) out of 501 total runners. Other standout runners included juniors Kiara Zambra and Jessica Dolan, placing 167th (22:46.08) and 194th (23:08.54). Freshman Hannah Schneeberger followed in 195th place (23:09.77).

In the boys race, junior Spenser Blake finished in the top 100 in 66th place (17:39.16). The next runners past the line were seniors Anthony Turner and Jose Fuentes, finishing 179th (18:43.08) and 198th (18:51.80) out of 479 runners.

Both teams are heading out to races next Saturday, Sept. 26. The girls will race in the Holloway Park Invitational in Lakeland, and the boys will race in the Overbay-Monte Carlo Invitational at Central Winds Park. Be sure to catch one of the races.
