With two meet wins under their belt, the boys track team went on to compete in the East Metro Championship Finals on April 7.

Seniors Colby Ritten and Robert Strange started the night strong and placed in their respective field events. Ritten threw 117 feet in the discus earning second place and Strange cleared 10 feet in pole vault, placing sixth.

In the boys 100-meter dash, junior Jonathan Joanis qualified with an 11:37 and in the finals Joanis ran an 11:26 placing sixth overall.

On the track, the boys 4×100-meter relay team (Joanis, senior Roy Hoewischer, junior Brent Sturno and junior Henry Johnson) ran a 44.22 and placed fifth.  

Hoewischer ran the 200-meter dash, 23.12, a qualifying time on April 6. In the finals, Hoewischer improved his time to 22.75 and placed third earning the team six points.

In the 800-meter race, two runners placed in the top 15. Junior Jose Vasquez-Dickson ran a 2:04.38 placing 12th, and senior Jose Fuentes ran a 2:04.81 to place 13th.  

Junior Spenser Blake ran a 4:36.22 in the 1600-meter race placing fourth and earning the team five points. Senior Clayton Partlow ran a 4:57.99, placing 12th.

To finish off the night, the varsity 4×400-meter relay ran a personal record of 3:36.35, the relay team (Hoewischer, Johnson, Anson Alexander and Jogimio Faustin) placed fifth, earning the team four points. 

The boys team placed sixth out of the 10 teams who competed with 59 total points.
