With the boys’ swim team still early in their season, they  destroyed the Lake Nona Lions 116-54 on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Wadeview Pool. The boys won every race.

Seniors Travis Stuart and Samuel Gentry-Mickelson, along with sophomores Dylan McKinney and Russell Dagon started the meet with a first place win in the 200 medley relay (1:46.20).

Stuart continued his success with another first place finish, but this time in the 200 freestyle (1:51.95). Sophomore Elias Contogonas followed closely placing second (1:52.85) and freshman Joshua Meincke placed fifth (2:19.84). Dagon placed first in the 200 individual medley race (2:16.26), with senior Andy Hoogvorst trailing behind in second (2:21.39) and sophomore Robert Duckworth in fourth (2:27.85).

Contogonas won the 500 freestyle when he finished a full minute before any of his opponents (5:05.52).

Keeping the gas on full throttle, Gentry-Mickelson took first in both the 50 freestyle (22.69) and the 100 butterfly (57.83). McKinney also took first place in the 100 freestyle (51.25) and the 100 breaststroke (1:04.32).

Ending the meet with a bang, Stuart, Gentry-Mickelson, Hoogvorst and senior Rafael Rodriguez took first in the 400 free relay (3:42.01), with their teammates senior Thomas Moore, senior Ryan Paule, Dagon and Contogonas finishing close behind in second (3:43.62).
