Avalon ES opened its doors in August 2001 serving students in the Avalon Park community of East Orange County. Recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, Avalon strives to offer innovative and creative learning experiences for students. We are committed to providing a world-class education through inquiry-based learning, arts enrichment and academic programs that enhance students’ growth and development.

Avalon implements a House system for students and staff to strengthen relationships and camaraderie across grade levels and disciplines. Students are sorted into Houses that represent character traits we expect all of our Avalon Mariners to display. The overall goal of the House system is to benefit the school community through positive peer pressure, increased school spirit, and healthy competition.

At Avalon, we encourage our students to take risks and challenge themselves to become better students, caring friends, and outstanding citizens. #WeAreAvalon
