Hungerford Elementary is a Title 1 school, located in Eatonville, Florida. Hungerford has approximately 300 students and 40 staff members. There are a variety of wonderful programs at Hungerford. The school is in the candidacy phase of implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. The program prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others while having the capacity to participate in the world around them.  The Primary Years Programme curriculum is taught in over 109 countries around the world, and the PYP framework is uniquely adaptable to state and national standards.  It is guided by six transdisciplinary themes of global significance. Students deepen their learning by developing their conceptual understanding as well as strengthening their knowledge and skills across and beyond subject areas.

Hungerford will also have a STEM program with an aviation focus. The STEM component is an opportunity for students to enhance the standard PYP curriculum.  These STEM opportunities will provide a foundation for students who are interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering and math. The critical thinking skills cultivated in this program will help prepare students for higher education and leading roles in 21st Century careers.  The program will provide opportunities for hands-on experiments and activities, focused on real-world applications.
