John Young ES’ focus is to embed SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING through cross- age buddies, classroom meetings, authentic writing, etc.

Principal Lino Rodriguez is in his 30th year as an elementary school principal. As principal of JYES, Lino is honored to work with a staff devoted to the health, happiness and academic achievement of our students. He feels blessed to have worked with caring and dedicated teachers at five different schools. His wife, Liz, is an “outstanding” high school math teacher at University High School. Together they have five “interesting and entertaining children.” They are avid Gator football and basketball fans, and love hanging out together and going to the beach.
